Ratings and reviews

Extremely politicized. Like "me too", feminism, woman sex, teacher job is bad, etc. I was looking for a genuine book with fresh ideas, not a teenage brain wash book. I stopped reading after some paragraphs tried to force so much the democrat ideas. I would say this book is pathetic. Look I am not even American. I am a foreign whose primary language is not English. The only thing that I liked is how the Author switch between the first person story telling. The rest of the book is empty of ideas. Unfortunately, the copy and past democrat brain wash is everywhere.

I received an ARC copy of the Dangerous Engagment by Charlotte Byrd. This is first book in a trilogy. You are totally left with a cliff hanger and looking forward to seeing how the story continues and lots of potential to be really good. The story starts with an unexpected connection between a heiress and an employee of her parents. Seems to be a start of a forbidden romance. The first half of the book shows how they are going to make sacrifices to be together. Then splits in the middle and they are struggling and keeping lots of secrets from each other.

3.5 Stars Okay well.....I liked the story. Aurora is the spoiled daughter of billionaire owners of a media conglomerate. Henry is a regular guy working as a teacher and an aspiring writer. They meet when Henry is working on Aurora's parents yacht for the summer. Their chemistry is instant. Aurora is drawn to Henry because he is real and down to earth plus he doesn't try to impress her like all the rich douche bags that try to date her. Her parents dislike Henry and tell Aurora not to date him or they will cut her off. I don't want to give away any spoilers but there are a lot of adjustments and struggles for them to work through. They love each other but in the end that might not be enough to bridge the divide in their circumstances.
