Ratings and reviews

I was disappointed with this book. The plot is so outlandish and superficial, the characters don't seem to have a lot of redeemable qualities. Sophie seems strong and independent at first, and then not? Jax comes off as a creep at first. There's no chemistry, the mom's arch doesn't make sense with a new fiance out of the blue. Too much drama used to advance the narrative rather than fleshing out the characters. I don't know, I really wanted to like it but was utterly disappointed.

Spoiler? This felt like it was going somewhere, but then it took a weird turn when her mother shows up acting like a different person. Why would this rich man want to marry her as well? And random ex bf who has zero mention at any point until he appears to terrorize the main character. Ugh, really had potential until it didn't.

Believe the reviews, this book is horrible. The writing is overly simplistic, the characters lack development, and the plot also seems rushed and incomplete. I'm not sure why I chose to ignore the other reviews, but I regret it.
