This is a slow burn mf romance that is meant to be read as a series. There are cliffhangers at the end of each book, with a developing plot where everything comes together at the end. You’ll need to read all five books to enjoy the full scope of the story because there will be unanswered questions along the way.

Wow, Charmaine Ross is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors, and this book shows why. You meet a strong heroine that is fighting to figure out what happened to her patient and why she can suddenly see ghosts. With the help of her sister and a handsome detective who has amnesia, who died over 70 years ago, they try and solve the mysteries of the hospital death. Oh, and find love along the way. I just love this book, it has checked every box I have for a paranormal romance: Ghosts, demons, angels, family issues, a strong female main character, and of course romance. I grabbed this ARC because I was so incredibly curious about a ghost romance and whether or not it would be spicy! Well, you'll have to wait for book 2 for that answer. There was some intent, but no delivery in book 1. I would file this one as more of a Romantic Suspense maybe? There was a lot if investigative work being done trying to figure out a mysterious death. This book was fantastic, I enjoyed reading it, but it's definitely a slow burn. The main story element (of this book) is resolved in this book, but there is an over-arcing storyline that is NOT resolved in book 1 involving one of the main characters. You'll have to keep reading for resolution on that plot point, presumably. There is fantastic worldbuilding, I liked how her mother had dealt with the issue her whole life, and the MC figured out a different way almost immediately. Her sister is a fantastic resource. Cassie’s patient Henry died after she released him so when on the way to the morgue she hit her head pretty bad. After going to the morgue saw Henry’s body on the table then saw his ghost and fainted again. Elliott a detective ghost found her and sister Laura helped her clear up the will mess. Good book!.
