When Jake Solomon learns of the death of his estranged father, including the fact that he was murdered, it is viewed as little more than an annoyance. But when he finds his father has left him $300,000 hidden in his secret toy chest and he discovers his father was a CIA agent involved with drug smuggling, this fosters an attitude adjustment, and Jake sets out to find out who his father really was. In the mold of Chinatown, nothing Jake is told is completely accurate. He finds himself embroiled with a crooked FBI agent involved with the Chicago mob, a pimp who was his fathers army buddy and wont give a straight answer about their activities, and a Viet Cong spy claiming she was his fathers mistress and that Jake has a half-brother entitled to half of his inheritance. This tight eighty-thousand-word mystery, Chasing Lies, takes Jake down one blind alley after another as he weaves through a gauntlet of surprises and misdirection that will keep the readers heart racing long after they learn who was behind Sam Solomons death and why he was killed.

Bob Freeman was born and raised in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Lowell and a master’s degree in marketing from New York University. When he is not playing competitive tennis, or teaching adult writing classes in high school or community centers, he continues to submit articles and short stories to national magazines. His co-authored novel, “Kid Twist,” is the story of Abe Reles, head of Murder Inc., and was published in 2004. With his wife, Rosalie, they co-authored, “Women of a Certain age,” published in 2013. He has completed three other adult novels based on crime, science fiction and romance. He was awarded a special prize for his unique, aggressive dialogue by a literary agency. His novel, “a.k.a...Jimmy Smith,” a novel of crime and romance was published in 2011. After working 35 years as a research chemist and sales manager, he retired and lives with his wife and sometimes collaborator of 60 years, Rosalie, in Boynton Beach, Florida. They have three sons and ten grandchildren.
