About the author

Teresa Southwick discovered her love for the written word because she was lazy. In a high school history class she was given a list of possible projects and she chose to do an imaginary diary of Marie Antoinette since it seemed to require the least amount of work. But she soon realized that to come up with any plausible personal entries for poor Marie she needed to know a little something about the woman. Research was required. After all, Teresa sincerely wanted to pass the class. Nowadays, she finds that knowing as much as she can about her characters is more fun than it is work. She is the author of 20 books, four of them historicals for which she had to do research. She s happy to say laziness played no part in the creative process and no brain cells were harmed in the writing of those books. She has no pets as her husband is allergic to anything with fur. Preserving her marriage seemed more expedient to her than having a critter curl up by her desk as she writes. She was conceived in New Jersey, born in Southern California, and got to Texas as quickly as she could, where she s hard at work on a series for Silhouette Romance called Destiny, Texas. Never at a loss for inspiration or access to the male point of view, she s surrounded by men including her heroic, albeit allergy-prone, husband and two handsome sons.

Brenda Harlen is a multi-award winning author for Harlequin Special Edition who has written over 25 books for the company.

Cheryl Harper discovered her love for books and words as a little girl, thanks to a mother who made countless library trips and an introduction to Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House stories. Whether it’s the prairie or Regency England or Earth a hundred years in the future, Cheryl enjoys strong characters who make her laugh. Now she spends her days searching for the right words while she stares out the window and her dog snoozes beside her.

Melinda grew up on an isolated sheep ranch, where mountain lions had been seen and yet she roamed unaccompanied. Being a rather optimistic, clueless of danger, sort she took to playing "what if" games that led her to become an author. She spends days trying to figure out new ways to say "He made her heart pound." That might sound boring, but the challenge keeps her mentally ahead of her 3 kids and college sweetheart husband.

Kathy Douglass came by her love of reading naturally - both of her parents were readers. She would finish one book and pick up another. Then she attended law school and traded romances for legal opinions. After the birth of her two children, her love of reading turned into a love of writing. Kathy now spends her days writing the small town comtemporary novels she enjoys reading.Kathy loves to hear from her readers and can be found on Facebook.

Writing has been a passion for Janice Carter from a young age but her 'second' career after teaching didn't officially start until she took a romance writing course at a local community college. The story she began then became her debut novel, a Harlequin Intrigue. Janice says she's been very lucky to do what she enjoys most--writing about the connections between people and their families; in other words, how we find love and romance.
