Pages 1-29 can be cut from the book completely, I think that including the entire history of chess as a game and a sport along with its top players is a lot of extra information that a begginer, quite frankly, dont really care about. That being said I do think that The rest of the information could prove useful to most beginners, my only other negative critique is that castling is explained twice when just once would suffice I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
