About this ebook

Kit Beaumont needs a life change. She goes from being the head chef of an exclusive Los Angeles hotel to working as a cook on a ranch in Arizona. She couldn’t have picked anything more different.

As a teenager, Kit was homeless in San Francisco, living on the streets with her mom and sister. Now she’s successful, has a full life ahead of her, and doesn’t want to relive old mistakes and relive the grief and losses of her past. She has secrets too painful to share.

Carter McLeod is sure that the L.A. chef he hired as a cook won’t hang around for long. He’s concerned she won’t want to stay and prepare meals for a bunch of cowboys in the Arizona desert, but he’s hoping she will. The last thing he expects is to fall for the cute blonde.

Kit has no intention of jumping into a relationship with any man, much less her new boss. But what happens between them—she couldn’t have cooked up anything more enticing than Carter.

Kit’s hidden past comes walking back into her life and Carter may never trust her again.

Meet Kit Beaumont. She’s gone from being homeless and living on the streets when she was a child and teenager to head chef at a prestigious hotel in California to now working as a cook on a ranch in Arizona. Carter McLeod has his doubts that Kit will be with them long … she is so over-qualified for the position of ranch cook. But once he meets her and tastes what she can cook up, he’s hooked and will do anything to keep her there. Kit has secrets and she doesn’t want a relationship. Up till now they’ve brought her nothing but pain and heartbreak. But there is something about her tall, dark, handsome boss. The two of them just can’t seem to keep their hands off each other and Kit is falling hard. But then her secret walks through the door and all bets are off. Carter may never trust her again. I am never disappointed by a Cheyenne McCray book. I always get good-looking characters that have obstacles they must overcome to find their way to happiness. Great backgrounds .. in this case, Arizona, which is where I love to live. A man who knows how to be a man … a woman who is successful and doesn’t need a man to make her happy. Explicit intimate moments that add to the story instead of detracting. Many thanks to the author who provided a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

About the author

Cheyenne McCray is an award winning, New York Times and USA Today Best Selling author who is a rare native Arizonan but refuses to be put behind glass as an endangered species.

In her spare time she loves to torture characters—whether they’re misbehaving or not—and kill off deserving individuals. She also totally gets off on blowing things up. All fictionally, of course. She’d rather chew glass than write sweet and sugary. Give her a hideous demon or particularly nasty villain to slay any day.

Cheyenne enjoys creating stories of love, suspense, and redemption—in some cases. She enjoys building worlds her readers can get lost in. Hopefully they’ll find their way out, but stranger things have been known to happen.

If you would like to find out what odd and unusual things Cheyenne is up to these days, cruise her website any time, take a look at the bizarrely normal yet strange FAQs, and even drop her a line or two. Just not too hard—those things hurt. CheyenneMcCray.com
