This series is a child of the self esteem movement of the 1970s. Some of these stories are too good to be true, and i honestly can believe some of them are sent in by fraudulent readers, and/or embellished by the editors and writers. Positive thinking doesnt count for as much as we think, and self esteem is often just narcissm. Its all warm and fluffy, but how does it help when we really do get that phone call and that bad news? It doesnt. Real life isnt always warm and fluffy, its often dark, repetitive, and full of despair. No book or document prepares you for reality. This series is sweet to the point of being sickening. It really is "pollyanish" in its sunny tone, and some of these stories have to be jokers putting one over the editors. The usual dale carnegie mumbo jumbo. Not for me.
