Lots of Easily Digestible Chicken Information While this book is certainly geared for children, adults can certainly learn from it as well. Like all well-done children's nonfiction, the text is simple yet engaging, and the illustrations have bright colors that make it visually appealing. The author managed to cram this book FULL of information about chickens, including details about specific parts (like the varieties of combs and feathers), proper names of chicken parts inside and out, parts of the egg, and even specific chicken breeds. If you are considering getting chickens, or already have some, it would be a great book to read to or with your children... all of you will learn something! The only thing I wish the book had that it doesn't is some photos of actual chickens. Chickens are only depicted as cartoon-like illustrations. Many colorful breeds are highlighted throughout the book and at the end second specifically on breeds. It would have been nice to see what these birds actually look like. If your family or your child has any interest in chickens, I recommend picking this book up. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
