As far as first impressions go, nearly dropping a tree onto a federal agent is admittedly not the greatest one I’ve ever made. As an opening gambit in pursuit of a feisty, deliciously curvy woman, it’s decidedly the worst. 

Doesn’t help matters that Miss Independence insists she doesn’t have time to get sidetracked with a personal life. Which she stubbornly maintains even while looking at me like she’s the lumberjack and I’m the tree she wants to climb.

Previously published as Walker Pierce (c) 2017, completely rewritten in first person POV and revised throughout with newly added content, a different extended ending, and a bit more steam (note that this hero makes a point not to rush the heroine—making his gruff patience its own brand of sexy—so the book does start a little tamer than my usual stuff, but it picks up, as it is a Christa Wick book, after all *grin*).

Walker Turk didn’t have a type until he met Very Special Agent Ashley Callahan! Subgenre: sweet romance Ashley, an agent of the US Department of Fish and Wildlife Services and new agent in charge in Billings, is hunting some bad guys. She’s not exactly sure what type of bad guys – could be illegal game hunting, poachers, or money launderers – but she has a dead fox and she’s determined to figure out whodunit and catch the bad guys, with the help of her intrepid intern, Thomas Crane. The first time Walker meets Ashley, he almost drops a tree on her, accidentally of course. Naturally, she thought he was a bit of a jerk… Walker, showing immense wisdom, decides Ashley has the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen – eyes that belong in his bedroom – and since Walker is wise and Ashley is skittish, he sets about slowly courting her. Like all the Turks, Walker is devoted to his family. He loves his niece, Leah, and decides he wants his own snuggle bug, i.e., kids. Rather than turning into an alphahole, Walker does his best to help Ashley in her quest to catch the bad guys, while sharing his family with her. What I liked about the story: The supporting characters – the Turk family, the agent who works with one of the Turk brothers and Thomas Crane – all add to the story. They make you smile and really curious to find out more about them. Leah aka snuggle bug is as adorable as ever. Ashley finds herself in a bit of a bind with the bad guys, but she saves herself with a little help from a couple of the Turk brothers. But really, she totally had it under control. Go, Ashley! Ashley is dedicated to her job, but she knows her mind and her heart and isn’t afraid to make tough choices. Despite Ashley’s erroneous first impression, Walker never behaves like a jerk. He is sweet, uses his words, and is patient. I recommend Every Last Touch to all lovers of feisty females, eager interns, snuggle bugs and sweet romance.

I'm rating a 3 because of the disparity around her weight. Write a story where the woman appreciates her curves and is strong and empowered as a result of her knowing her worth. The rest of the story was great and the development of the love story was what kept me reading.
