About this ebook

Things just got serious...

The only thing music publicist Courtney Lincoln dislikes more than knock-off sugary breakfast cereal is the hunky lead singer of her brother’s ridiculously popular band. A band on the rocks, again. Seems like this time it’ll take a miracle to save Dimefront. So when she discovers she’s pregnant following one teeny, tiny, mind-blowing morning with Brennan “Bax” Baxter, the timing is not great. Being a mom wasn’t part of her plan, but her plans just changed.

Following the implosion of his engagement, Bax realizes he doesn’t want to lose Dimefront, too. But he’s finally let his guard down with Courtney in a steamy slip-up that ties them together as unlikely co-parents. The big problem? He broke the cardinal rule of music—don’t knock up the bass player’s little sister. Especially a little sister who sees straight through the façade he’s painstakingly curated. But he’s always wanted a family, and he’s being offered that chance. Plus, Courtney might just be exactly who he needs to keep him grounded.

Even if the band can mend fences, there’s a baby on the way, and Courtney’s questioning everything she once thought. Bax is suddenly a dreamy boyfriend, but she isn’t convinced it’s authentic given all she knows about his rocker past. As the group heads out on what they hope is a reunion tour, Bax and Courtney have to figure out what’s real, what’s not, and if they can learn to finally trust each other…

I am here for anything that Amy Daws writes. I love that she's still writing Harris Brothers spinoffs that let us revisit and enjoy the past characters because they are definitely memorable and fun! While this is a Harris Brothers spinoff, it can definitely be read as a standalone, so don't let this stop you from diving in if you haven't read them already yet. I have been looking forward to a book about Zander since I finished Replay. This story highlights all of the great traits of family-based romances. Loyalty, struggle, forgiveness, support, knowing each other so well that you can predict reactions, embracing each other through the madness, and lots of wit, humor and banter along the way. Zander show so much growth and emotion throughout this entire book. His life is definitely forever altered, and the struggle to accept all of this change is real. When Daphney enters his life, in the midst of all this, she and Zander have the chance to lean on each other through their tough times. Their relationship started with friendship, and it blossoms from there. There is so much laughter, sweetness, romance and steam in this book. Amy Daws always writes books that have a great balance of emotion and humor, with great character development that hits you right in the feels.

This is book two in the Mile High Rocked series, but it can be read as a standalone. It is written in third person from an alternating dual POV. I am so excited to get Courtney and Bax’s story. I fell hard for Bax in book one as the band member full of heart and emotion. In this book, which overlaps lightly with the events of book one, we see how Courtney and Bax end up in the situation where she is having his baby. There are so many things to love about this story. I love how Bax is all-in, even before he knows why really. I love Courtney’s shock and thoughts that go through her head. Bax is pretty clueless at times, which often leads to humor and sometimes leads to hurt. That said, I really appreciated their commitment to co-parent effectively from the get-go regardless of their personal relationship. They are able to work out ways of communication that work for them as they build trust and become more than coparents. I love that the low moments are brief and the high moments stand above the rest. This book builds the relationships among the band members more also. I love that we learn a little more about Mach and Tanner. I really adore getting to know Knox better. I seriously cannot wait for his book. Gah!!!! I love the brotherhood among the band. But more, I love the family and extended family they create around them. I adored Linx, but I absolutely love Bax. If you are looking for your next rockstar romance, this is it.

I have been so excited for Courtney and Bax's story ever since Courtney dropped her pregnancy announcement in Linx's kitchen, and it was everything I hoped it would be. The dialogue was snappy, and the inner monologues were hilarious. I loved all the funny little details like the pirate thing. I also loved the way Bax admitted his faults and took steps to do better and really communicate with Courtney. That helped me feel like they were a solid couple that became a family a little faster than usual. It was all very romantic and funny. The audiobook adds an extra dimension of reality and comedy to the story.
