Skye and Max are going to be a great couple when Max gets around to seeing what is right in front of him. Christine Pope is doing really well with this friends (on Max's part) to lovers in this series. The sudden arrival of Skye's birth mother was well done and bringing in a reality TV show to the town was very contemporary. The magic and murder solving make this an all around satisfying read. I appreciate being part of the review crew for this author.

Skye hears, "Hello, I’m your mother, Alicia Petrucci.” and the adventures in this book are started. She announces that Skye's magic is getting a power-up. Skye can levitate and fly, and reverses the spell on Tilly, the talking cat. Then Jessica, ‘The Fix My Town’ producer, is strangled. Alicia becomes a Person of Interest and Skye is determined to clear her name and find the real killer. That puts Skye in danger. Skye finds out why her mother deserted her and her father 29 year ago.
