About this ebook

Can a young boy losing his sight help his mom see love and Christmas in a new light?

Christmas isn’t something single mother, Noelle Monroe looks forward to this year. She already struggles to balance life while caring for her son who’s going blind. When her third nanny quits she must find someone or lose her job which would leave her financially drained.

Loner, Keith Mitchell agrees to return home for the holidays to appease his estranged mother during a work furlough. Only the temporary situation turns into permanent unemployment, leaving him stuck in a town facing a past mistake that broke apart his family. An error that almost cost his sister her life.

When Keith’s mother volunteers him to watch a young boy with visual challenges Keith knows he’s the wrong man for the job, yet the beautiful young neighbor needs help and the boy needs a male in his life. Keith and Noelle agree to a temporary arrangement through the season, but the boy has other plans.

He’s on a mission to help his mother smile again, win a new dad, and save Christmas.

I think Keith ran from home and became a commercial fisherman far away from children because he feels like he’s no good for them. Noelle has been through a lot with a rotten ex husband and a young son who is struggling with losing his sight and his independence. But she does everything she can to get Micha the help he needs. She was judgmental about Keith’s rough appearance, but she hasn’t been treated well and lives in constant fear that someone will take Micha away from her. Keith’s ex Ashley was a piece of work and his mother is an interfering busybody, but Creekside does care about their townspeople, which they show when they come together to help in the end. This was a clean romance, with light hearted funny, romantic, and some intense moments.

Ciara Knight is a new author to me, but she didn't disappoint. This book is a perfect Christmas read. Keith and Micha have such a perfect chemistry. And it only took a while before Noelle was able to see it as well and wasn't able to let Keith go. Never read a book with a disabled kid as one of the main characters, but this book was perfectly written, full of love from both Keith and specially Noelle for Micha. Loved it! As in all her books, Ciara Knight writes a story where there's a lot of struggle for the main characters, but they, however, are able to overcome their difficulties with help from others, friendship, love, and persistence. Sometimes help is looked upon with fear but those feelings are overcome when Noelle realizes people just want what is best for her and Micha. She has to learn to trust and to accept. This is just the message that we should be spreading, be supportive, be helpful, be trustful! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
