I have read most of chuck's books in a short binge-like period. Can't put them down. This is the first one I have a hard time picking up. There was one part that was so gruesome it left me actually wishing I could unread it. I have to respect that. But the rest is boring me to tears. And it's just sort of annoying when it isn't boring. This is maybe 3rd book in my life that I can say I'm not going to finish. I have a compulsion to finish every book I start. You have to really convince me not to finish it

I quite enjoied this book, the idea of needing something exciting to happen to become interesting... The only problem I have with this book is that in the end there is a very random feeling chapter about aliens that kind-of ruined the momentum of the end of the book for me. Left me thinking "this book would be fantastic without that one chapter"

I liked this book more than many books I've read by other authors, but compared to the other 8 or 9 books I've read by Chuck, I didn't love this one as much as most of the others. Still some interesting stories though. Includes "Guts" (or the story that made all those people faint).
