So why is he stepping in to stop a handsy resort guest from assaulting a woman? Now she sees a hero when in reality, the person she most needs protection from is Dex himself. The most dangerous thing had can do is fall for her, but for a guy used to living on the edge, going over it is only a matter of time.

You know how when you're meeting a friend for lunch and she finally shows up after 15 mins late and straight away launched into a long-winded tale of excuses of why she was late, in details you never even asked for, while you're just sitting there quietly hoping she would shut up and get on with the menu already because you've been waiting and starving? This novel feels exactly like that. Giving 2 stars for the premise because plot, while overused, was interesting enough and steamy scenes were hot, if only they could just get to it already. So guy and girl meets and had sizzling connection. Girl eventually strips down, throws herself at him and says, "shut up and kiss me already". It took 6 paragraphs of inner turmoils and whatnot for guy to finally reach for her. By that time, the heat of anticipation that was simmering inside of me had died down and left cold. Also not a good sign if halfway thru supposedly sexy scene my mind wanders to how I'm going to write the review already.

Hmmm. We'll first, thank you for this free book, but I must say I am quite disappointed. The main characters are like hamsters who keep running on the wheel. More than half of the book is about push and pull, and I got tired of it.. There's too much unnecessary details, had to skip like 1/4 of the book. Has a happy ever after ending but is so unsatisfactory..

Emma and Dex are two really scarred people. Scarred by people who were messed up and for whom they cared. People we care about can hurt us the most, but others we love can heal us.
