It was a DNF for me. I read other works from this author and it looks like she has a thing for writing ridiculous and foolish women and I didn't really like the portrayal of women like that. I mean she tried, I guess, to play it off as them being protective and loving but it just comes out as selfish and ridiculous to me. So yeah, this is not for me.

Not only does the author write a wonderfully entertaining & suspenseful love story, but she also includes many issues our military, specifically our, veterans face. Unfortunately our society continues to portray negative stigmas associated with anyone with mental health issues: PTSD, anxiety or -in the case of this story- the difficulty many face with their reintegration back into "normal society" as civilians vs the active military personnel they'd been accustomed to. I absolutely LOVE how the author brings light to many of these diseases/disorders in a matter of fact way, just as if someone was battling cancer, for instance. Mental health is just as much a part of our overall health as any physical issue (such as cancer) & MUST be treated as such! It's wonderful to follow the characters thru their healing processes, while also following their personal growth ... and all within a hot, steamy & romantic love story! Thank you for bringing light to the "taboo" subject of mental health!!
