Save yourself don't buy this book i did wasted my money read a few pages and i told me i had read the book its a rip off I've never been. So disappointed.

Very interesting subject matter, I learned a lot however I did not like the writing style. Rather dry and a bit too highfalutin at times.

A mesmerising story of a fascinating woman who extended her beloved countries prosperity in the seemingly endless ways of a famous moabitess, Ruth. However, readers looking to have their bitter irony scratched, will not get quite the satisfaction as do readers who delight in the hope-filled optimism Schiff seems in her spontaneous riffs of delightful songs. An unavoidable delightful tragedy that this era is withering away for since the days of Elisabeth and Rex. ... e.t carter

Stacy Schiff is the author of Véra (Mrs. Vladimir Nabokov), winner of the Pulitzer Prize; Saint-Exupéry, a Pulitzer Prize finalist; A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America, winner of the George Washington Book Prize and the Ambassador Book Award; Cleopatra: A Life, winner of the PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for biography; and The Witches: Salem, 1692.

Schiff has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Center for Scholars and Writers at the New York Public Library. A member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and named a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres by the French Government, she lives in New York City.
