About this ebook

He loves everything about being a sea captain, so how can he give up his passion forever?

Katrina Needham intended to marry her beloved major and live happily-ever-after—until he’s seen with another woman. Distraught, and needing a distraction, she agrees to assist the rugged, and dangerously handsome Captain Dominic St. Monté find a wife. So why does she find herself entertaining romantic notions about the privateer turned duke?

When Nic unexpectedly inherits a dukedom and the care of his young sisters, he reluctantly decides he must marry. Afterward, if his new duchess is willing, he hopes to return to the sea-faring life he craves part-time. If she doesn’t agree, he’ll have no choice but to give up the sea forever.

Nic soon realizes Katrina possesses every characteristic he seeks in a duchess. The more time he spends with the vivacious beauty, the more enamored he becomes. Still, he cannot ask for her hand. Not only is she still officially promised to another, she has absolutely no interest in becoming a duchess, much less a privateer’s wife.

Can Nic and Katrina relinquish their carefully planned futures and trust love to guide them?

Buy this 4th book in the Waltz with a Rogue historical Regency romance series for a rousing, emotional, and romantic adventure you can't put down.

Though this book is part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone.

This is the story of Katrina Needham, the feisty, confident daughter of a wealthy banker, and Dominic St. Monte, nephew of a family friend, a successful privateer, and the new Duke of Pendergast. In addition to his duties to the Dukedom, Nic is now responsible for his Aunt Bertie (who raised him) whom he adores, and his sisters whom he does not know. The Needhams invite the lot of them to come for an extended visit, and while they are in residence, Katrina will help him with his sisters and learning how to behave like a proper duke. These two would be perfect together, but she believes she is about to become betrothed (although Richard, her almost intended, has not been heard from lately) and he wants a biddable wife who won’t mind if he returns to sea once the family is settled. That’s the plan, but everybody knows about the best-laid plans… How does this all work out? Where is Richard? Will Nic find a suitable wife? Is there any possibility that Nic and Katrina can be together? Why is Aunt Bertie grinning about? Lots of questions - answers to be found in To Tame a Scoundrel’s Heart. Katrina and Nic have a wonderful chemistry. Their banter is witty and charming. Both are intelligent, caring people. Nic may be a rough and tough man of the sea, but he has a big heart. He wants to make a make a happy family and good life for his shy, scared sisters and sweet Aunt Bertie. The secondary characters are great. The Needhams are understanding and willing to help Nic and his new family. The story is interesting and heartwarming. There is a twist or two and a bit of a surprise. Another winner for Collette Cameron. I enjoyed and recommend it.
