About this eBook

New York Times bestselling author Catherine Anderson presents the first novel in her Comache series—a powerful historical romance about a man and a woman caught between two worlds…

Orphaned seven years ago after witnessing the brutal murder of her parents at the hands of the Comanche people, golden-haired Loretta Simpson still lives in terror that the warriors will return—her fear so powerful, she is no longer able to speak a word.

Called the U.S. Army’s most cunning adversary, Hunter of the Wolf believes that Loretta is the “honey-haired woman with no voice” of ancient prophecy—the one he must honor for all eternity.  But Loretta can only see Hunter as the enemy who has stolen her, refusing to succumb to his control, or his touch.

Despite the hatred intensifying between their peoples, Loretta and Hunter gradually find their prejudices giving way to respect, then flaring into feelings too dangerous to express. In the midst of such conflict, it will take all the force of their extraordinary love to find a safe place...

This is an interesting story that keeps you reading. Only one thing bothered me, the main character continuously makes decisions that just plain piss me off. She chooses to trust someone that she knows hates her and all white people over a man that has continuously been upfront with her and sacrificed his own well being for her. Makes zero sense. So I was pissed but couldn't put it down.

Loved it, a great historical story incorporating the differences between the white and native indian (Comanche) population in America. I enjoyed the historical data in the story and the cultural differences that we brought into play. I have purchased the following two books in the series.

I read the translated version of this book several years ago. Could not put it down since the first pages. None of the sometimes monotone story line you find in romance books. It has strong characters that grow closer and deeper as the story went. Very well written.
