The Latin American countries, both individually and as a community, are poised to become increasingly important in the international recognition and enforcement of competition law. Paulo Burnier da Silveira is Commissioner at the Brazilian Competition Authority (CADE) and Associate Law Professor at the University of Brasilia (UnB). He holds a PhD in International Law from the University of Paris II and the University of São Paulo (USP), a LLM from the Catholic University of Lisbon and a BA from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
