The content of this book basically covers the topics related to fundamentals of Computer-Aided Design using software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks 3D modeling.
It consists of understanding and practicing basic 3D commands of both parametric and non-parametric environments of SolidWorks and AutoCAD respectively.
The basics of graphic transformation with illustrative examples and exercises are also included as fundamental information of computer graphics.
The information regarding various basic hardware devices is also included in order to highlight the CAD workstation requirements.
The contents also highlight the step-by-step procedures to follow the command instructions to run the software on a more practical basis with illustrative examples and a case study.
Overall I can conclude that all students pursuing their diploma programs and degree programs and practitioners involved in mechanical parts modeling, assembly modeling, engineering drawing, drafting, and designing can get benefited from the contents and sub-contents of the book.

Mr. Pitroda has completed his diploma in Mechanical in 1999 from T.E.B, a bachelor's degree from Saurashtra University (Gujarat) in 2002, MBA (Operation Management) (IGNOU) in 2013, and M.Tech. with a gold medal in 2019 from Ganpat University. He joined B.S. Patel Polytechnic since 2007. He is among the certified SolidWorks Company Associates. Before joining academic, Mr. Pitroda has got industrial experience as a Q.C inspector and operation and maintenance in GWIL. He teaches subjects like tool engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, CAD, engineering drawing and drafting, projects, etc. He is specialized in CAD/CAM. His hobbies are teaching, learning exploring newer ideas in the engineering field, and training and guiding his students in their project works. He is engaged in teaching, training, and other curricular activities in science 2005, and he likes to convey his knowledge to his students to update them and himself in the existing scenarios and needs in the industrial domains. His future goals are to continue gaining more and more knowledge, keep updating himself, accept challenges coming through newer environments in the teaching field, and update new technologies emerging due to demands in present scenarios. He tries to engage himself in developing through periodical training and teaching programs and try to apply it in his day-to-day activities to keep himself happy and his students. In his opinion, today’s environment of teaching students at different levels is a new and big challenge. Hence, he always strives to engage students in productive activities apart from merely completing their syllabus, which leads them to accomplish their goals in studies quickly and efficiently.
