About the author
Brian was born in North London, where he survived the Blitz and evacuation (three times!). He has been a farm hand, a mechanic, a soldier, an engraver, a research chemist and a chemical engineer. After retiring, Brian went on to take an Open University degree. Each year, he manages to “tick off” another ambition, such as gliding and flying microlights. This year, it was writing a book. Brian lives in Hertfordshire with his wife, Pat.
