About this ebook

Things like murder have a funny way of messin' up a country girl's life, turning a pretty pastoral day right onto its bucolic head.

Joey's just a country girl who loves her dog, her cat, and her pig. But her life is about to get less countrified and more...erm...homicide.

Joey Fulle and her dog find a person run through a chipper on her property. Her parents have been gone for 2 yrs and she’s still grieving. When FBI agent Cox comes back she is furious. He spent his time harassing her parents before their death and he’s back to smear their good name. He claims they were thieves and smugglers. Joey can’t handle it anymore so she calls her cousin and she sends her fiancé’s brother Hal to help Joey figure out what’s going on now and in the past. As they especially her are continually attacked they did deeper into what happened to a missing Monét. This was a really good book. It had a bit of romance and a lot of adventure and mystery. It even had a surprise ending! The second book in the collection was even better. When a pushy realtor new to town starts trying to force everyone to sell their houses and businesses to get, it’s no surprise she turns up dead! But did it have to be on Joey’s pond! Her relationship with Hal progresses nicely. There is one extremely shocking twist in this story I won’t tell you about but it changes everything! I was so shocked I was actually speechless. We get to learn more about the people in the town. I absolutely loved this collection and look forward to reading the next book in the series!!! I highly recommend this book! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

An entertaining crime duo These two books were full of cozy intrigue and humor. The characters are well developed and are relatable which makes the stories entertaining. I received a free copy of the book but my opinions are honest and voluntary. Humpty Bumpkin - Joey is still mourning her parent’s tragic death two years ago. Fortunately, she had her precious Pitbull, Caphy to comfort her but she still tends to isolate herself with her grief. That changes when she and Caphy discover a corpse in the backwoods of her property and Joey decides to solve the murder with the help of Hal Amity, a hot-looking private investigator. These things just don’t happen in Deer Hollow. Mucky Bumpkin – After being named one of the best places to live, there has been a lot of outside interest in the Hollow and an aggressive realtor is badgering people to sell their properties. There are plenty of suspects when Joey and Caphy find Penney Sellers floating in the pond on Joey’s property. This time the local police ask for Hal’s help on the case but Joey had already decided to work on it. In the process, she takes the victim’s cranky Siamese until she can find a new home much to Caphy’s dismay.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well developed and believable. It is written well and tightly plotted with enough information from the past to explain appropriately without impeding the current plot line. The story is complete within itself, and yet dovetails with the other I previously read. Even without any cliffhangers — or maybe because there weren’t any, want to continue to follow these characters and watch what develops. Twists and turns galore with a satisfying conclusion. This series is definitely on my “greatest hits” list.
