About this eBook

A cowboy veterinarian thought calming injured livestock would prepare him for anything in life, then he fell for a woman facing murder charges.

Rae Fox wants nothing more than to put distance between her and the past—but a judge will only allow an instate move to the small town of King Creek. With her cousin’s help, she maintains some anonymity in between traveling to and from court, where she stands trial for killing an intruder who tried to murder her.

Country vet Bear McLeod spends his time caring for King Creek’s livestock and pets, plus the menagerie on his ranch. When Rae brings in a dog that was hit by a car, he notices her kind heart and beauty. Later, he finds her tending bar in town and tries to get to know her, but she makes it difficult time and time again. That doesn’t stop him.

In this cowboy romance, Bear knows what fear looks like and can see it in Rae’s eyes. She will run the first chance she gets, and love may not be strong enough to hold her back.

Country Storm is the third book in Cheyenne McCray’s King Creek Cowboys, and this is definitely my favourite story so far! There’s something about a huge, rugged, teddy bear of a man and his devotion and genuine love of any and all animals. As the county vet; this is profession that couldn’t be any more perfect for Bear McLeod, and he’s happy living in his bubble of work, brother and community helper. That is until Rae Fox arrives at his practise with an injured dog and an electric presence that Bear simply can’t ignore. This unfortunate encounter leads to a captivating story about this easy-going and laid-back vet and the woman who has turned his world upside down, while capturing his heart. But as with any Cheyenne McCray story, there is more than laughter and romance on the horizon; there is mystery, intrigue and some danger too, as Rae tries to keep her reason for relocating a secret and the horrors of the past that plague her every around every turn at bay. Rae and Bear are a couple that I embraced heart and soul from their first meeting and only became more charmed by as their story played out. Deeply emotional and sometimes heart-wrenching too; theirs is a story that fully engages the reader and makes you laugh and cry throughout their journey. I’m a huge fan of Ms McCray’s writing, and Country Storm is a perfect example of why I keep coming back for more. I highly recommend this book, and while it can be read as a standalone, you should definitely start the series at book one to appreciate the McLeod family dynamics and King Creek community too. I hope you enjoy Rae and Bear’s story as much as I did.
