About this eBook

Don’t Fence Me In.

When Wyoming cowboy Robert Tanner promised to help out the new owner of the Three Bar C, he didn’t expect to have to teach a city girl schoolteacher how to run a ranch. Worse, Maggie MacLeod was a beautiful feisty redhead with flashing eyes and kissable lips — a woman who could tempt a saint.

Tanner was far from a saint. He didn’t do permanent, he didn’t do relationships. The smart thing would be to leave. But a man was only as good as his word. Trouble was, the longer he stayed, the more Maggie got under his skin…

This was a pretty good read. The basic story is Tanner has been working on the Three Bar C ranch for three years. When the owner passes away it appears it was inherited by city girl Maggie MacLeod, who decides she wants to run the ranch and it's Tanner's job to help her learn the ropes. They are immediately attracted to each other but Tanner doesn't do relationships. Ever. Marriage is something he's done once and will never do again and Maggie is definitely the marrying kind. The book is well written but I thought Tanner was a tough character to warm up to. In order to protect himself he comes off as a bit of a jerk. Maggie is so persistent though and very likeable. This was a great lazy afternoon read though so I would recommend it.

"Cowboys Don't Cry" by Anne McAllister is book one in the "Tanner Brothers" series. This is cowboy Robert Tanner and school teacher Maggie MacLeod's story. Robert doesn't do relationships or anything permanent. He is the foreman at the Three Bar C ranch. He promised the previous owner before she died that he would stay to help the new owner get acquainted with the ranch. Boy is Robert aka "Tanner" is surprised when he learns that city girl Maggie MacLeod had inherited the ranch and that she plans to run the ranch. It was great watching Robert and Maggie's relationship grow. The chemistry was great between them. I loved the characters, but at times I wanted to smack some sense into Robert. I really enjoyed this book and love Anne's style of writing. So kick back and escape into Robert and Maggie's life at Three Bar C ranch. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing for an honest review.

Tanner has been alone a long time and he likes it that way. When the elderly lady that owns the ranch he work on dies, he finds himself working for a lovely woman who knows nothing about ranching. They have a lot to learn about each other and maybe Tanner can learn that having someone is better than being alone.
