Illumina, a Faria, was running from her ex, Alonio, who had beat her and cut off her wings. Dale, an ex cyborg secret operative, owned a secret chop shop on a hidden planet. When Illumina came for a job Dale hired her even though he had reservations because he desired her. On the journey to love, Illumina and Dale faced doubts, sabotage, danger, spies and a deeper connection than either thought possible to obtain their HEA. This is the third story in the "Men of Mettle" and a previously published story that was called "Captured by the Cyborg". This is a fast paced story that draws you in and keeps you glued until the very end. I love the characters and the plot is very intriguing. Dale, was a Cyber Ops agent but has sense left. He now runs a very private factory that retrofits shops. Because of his clients everything is confidential with heightened security. He has grown a little restless and thinks he misses the excitement of his old job. That is until Illumina shows up looking for a job. She is full of secrets, deception and lies. She has a good reason because she is running from her ex that tried to kill her. Such a good story!

This was an enjoyable story watch unfold. Dale as the Cyborg boss together with Illumina and her unique skills and situation made for a great pair. I liked the touch of suspense and path taken for it to be resolved. Seeing several of the characters healed better than before and many plot details addressed made for a satisfying HFN ending.
