Le tachelhit est l'un des parler du berbère marocain. Parlé au sud-ouest du Maroc, il couvre une aire géographique assez vaste. Grâce aux moyens modernes : radio, télé, cassette, livre, théâtre, cinéma...le tacheliht connaît aujourd'hui un processus d'homogénéisation et d'unification linguistique. Dans le but de promouvoir un vocabulaire commun à l'ensemble du domaine tachelhit, le lexique retenu dans ce dictionnaire ne correspond pas à une forme locale particulière d'une région : c'est un tachelhit commun à plusieurs localités.
