About this ebook

Myths. Magic. Suspense.

What happens when the supernatural and mortals collide?

It's tough being misunderstood. Humans don't always get us. It's hard for them to grasp how it feels to be a mischievous fairy, condemned witch, lonely sea creature, or delusional serial killer. They can't see that we're actually here to help them. Sometimes, we don't even want to bother with them at all.

But they come looking for us, so are we really to blame? Usually, we are labeled the world’s villains. Someday, they will see the truth. Until then, we'll continue to enlighten them anytime they choose to wander through the woods.

Full of spellbinding tales, whimsical adventures, and spine-chilling thrills, Through the Woods is the first installment of a new biannual anthology series for lovers of fantasy, magic, and horror.

Take your first step and discover what's lurking in the forest, where terror, mystery, and surprises await . . .

About the author

D. M. Million is inspired by the authors she read growing up. As someone

who marched to the beat of her own drum as an adolescent, she was often at

home reading books about powerful females and unlikely heroes; they

would influence her own work years later. Million is a lover of animals,

Mother Nature, and cozy spaces. In her spare time she enjoys hiking,

weight lifting, and meditating. Some of her guilty pleasures are watching

reruns of the Gilmore Girls, eating copious amounts of ice cream, and

visiting the animal shelter. A few of her favorite musical artists include

Devin Townsend, Linkin Park, the Spice Girls, and when she is feeling

sassy––Ariana Grande. Her favorite pastime is of course—writing. Million

is co-founder of Impossible Things Publishing (ITP), this collaborative

anthology project, and a freelance copy editor.

A former Floridian and Seattleite, R.M. Carpus now writes fantasy and

science fiction from Philadelphia, her birthplace and current home base.

She is co-founder of Impossible Things Publishing (ITP), a collaborative

anthology project, and a student and tutor at Saint Joseph’s University. The

aftermath following the tragic loss of her mother led her to return to her

Catholic faith, which she today counts as her greatest gift and joy in life,

along with her family, friends, and love for storytelling. She speaks a little

French, dreams of living in the English countryside, and prefers to be

outdoors or curled up watching classic movies with her animals.

C.C. Givans developed her love for the “dark side” in childhood. Armed

with a flashlight and a book by Stephen King, R.L. Stine, or Carolyn

Keene, she’d hide under the covers at night and read for hours on end. She

wrote her first story at the age of seven, has published three books under a

pseudonym, and spent a decade ghostwriting. Now she’s taking her readers

on a frightening new journey . . .

Explore the darkest corners of the depraved mind. Consider the possibility

of alien life, ghosts, and the supernatural. Travel into the future and ponder

whether man’s true nature will lead us to the greater good for all of

humanity, or if we will unwittingly craft our own horrifying demise.

Known for her vivid and emotionally charged prose, C.C. Givans writes in

the suspense, psychological thriller, dystopian, and supernatural genres. She

is also a co-founder of Impossible Things Publishing, an anthology project,

with authors R.M. Carpus and D.M. Million.
