This collection of short stories features 14 short tales covering a gamete of different aspects of science fiction. The first two are essentially precursors to The Shattered Empire and Requiem's Run series featuring a young Yegor Pavlovich and Mel Destin, respectively. Several other stories may also occur in the same universes. Several tales focus on how far-future generations may view everyday objects and at least one is from an alien race's perspective. Three or four I have read before, but I enjoyed reading them again. Altogether it is an enjoyable collection of tales. I received a complimentary copy and I am submitting this review of my own free will.

I often find that anthologies can be hit and miss. But, not in this case! It's all hit as far as I'm concerned! While I have read some of these stories before, I really enjoyed revisiting them again. D.M. Pruden is a fine author who creates deep, believable characters and has a wonderful way of weaving words to create imagery that's easy to see in the mind's eye. Every time I read one of his books or stories, I can easily visualize myself standing right next to the characters, experiencing everything they do. Right down to the smells and the texture of the surfaces they touch. On top of that, the writing is crisp and has a great flow. Pacing is excellent with all of the stories and you'll find yourself caring for all of the main characters. I highly recommend this book and all other titles from the same author. You won't be disappointed. I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily posting this review.
