This has always been my favorite Kate Shugak book, with its crazy comedy of errors involving wildlife, idiotic people and Alaskan weather. I've read it over and over again, usually when I need a cobination of entertainment and Dana Stabenow's spectacular writing. When I recommend her books to toursts to Alaska, this is the one I try to set them up with. It's not the first in the Kate Shugak series, but it is the most fun.
About the author
Dana Stabenow was born in Anchorage, Alaska and raised on a 75-foot fishing tender. She knew there was a warmer, drier job out there somewhere and found it in writing. Her first book in the bestselling Kate Shugak series, A Cold Day for Murder, received an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America.
