About this ebook

You might picture someone who never lets his temper get out of control, no matter what problems he's facing. Or you might think of someone who has the complete trust of her staff, listens to her team, is easy to talk to, and always makes careful, informed decisions. These are qualities of someone with a high degree of emotional intelligence

You discover the happiness you seek, with chapters covering:

•                  How to start thinking positively

•                  Managing emotions and anxiety

•                  Improving confidence to help you deal with everyday challenges

•                  Developing positive relationships

•                  How to influence people around you

•                  Verbal and non-verbal ways of communicating

•                  Being kind to yourself first

•                  Celebrating small victories in life

The modern world is becoming more and more fast-paced, thereby sapping and draining. And the resultant demand to keep up makes it difficult to avoid automatic body and brain responses like overthinking and stress. It’s also more difficult to keep our brains on top gear to handle problems efficiently and as a result, we often find ourselves performing less and less than our ability, and have a hard time maintaining healthy relationships.

This book is a game changer. It was on my Amazon Wish List for a long time, but I kept skipping purchasing it. In the end I read it, and I was not sorry. As someone working in sales for close to 30 years, I have to be attuned to a customer’s emotions. It is all about the emotions and psychology of the purchaser or the group of purchasers. Creating that ability to be Emotionally Intelligent like being academically intelligent is something that truly has to be learned and then acquired. The book does a great job convincing why Emotional Intelligence is crucial, important and should be taught to our children as early as possible. Not understanding the power of Emotional Intelligence and how it will assist an individual in their current status and future would be truly a miss

This book is an excellent collection of articles on leadership. It is an easy read and each article examines Emotional Intelligence from a unique viewpoint. The articles are both substantive and well written. Altogether, this book provides a diverse examination of Emotional Intelligence from 10 very different perspectives. Some of the topics are resilience, incivility in the workplace, performance feedback, and promoting inexperienced millennials. Since each chapter stands alone, the reader can easily finish a section and come back later without losing their train of thought. Emotional intelligence is a key ingredient in successful leaders. This book reinforces that point through its broad examination of this trait. Anyone who aspires to be a leader or who is already in a leadership position will certainly benefit from this book. All in all, just a great read.

I’m very surprised by all the negative reviews, and in some cases I may understand if they are more advanced readers or are just looking for more out of a book. I on the other hand I LOVE this book. I accidentally bought this book, and mid way throughout the book Im definitely not disappointed. This book is very clear and I also like how it helps you improve in a lot of areas that everyone should be more mindful of. I thought I had certain skills covered until I realize that although I did know a lot there was more to learn and improve.
