Dare to love was an incredible love story. This is the first book I've read by Carly Phillips and I am happy that I did. Ian dare has given his all to his family after finding out his father had a second family. And gives hardly anything to relationships. That is until he meets Riley Taylor. He wants to possess her in everyway and sets out to do so. But to have a future with her, he'll have to extend an olive branch to his half brother since he is best friend to Riley. But she is reluctant to have anything to do with him but can't resist such a exquisite man especially after the kiss that assaults her senses. As their affair heats up they soon discover that they are perfect for each other. But Riley's past threatens to tear it all down on her especially when she attempts to deal with it on her own instead of going and asking Ian for help like she promised. After having a nice conversation with his father, Ian is determined to get his woman and keep her for good. Dare to love was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

"Dare to Love" is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed the plot and characters. If not for the nature of the sex scenes, I would have given this book five stars. Since Riley grew up with an abusive father, I think the sex scenes are unfitting. She trusts Ian when she's tied up in bed but doubts him otherwise, which is contradictory and unrealistic.

Family drama, Emotional history and Huge trust issues are just a few of the obstacles they must overcome if they really want a peaceful future. Extremely entertaining late-night read that draws you in and does not let go. Ian is the oldest Dare sibling he is also wicked smart and total alpha male completely in control of every aspect of his world (or so it seems). He is so not looking for everlasting love (since in his opinion it is not real). Loved every heart pounding twist and turn on this emotional journey to self-discovery and personal growth leading to their possible future. Excited to read more about the rest of the family.
