About this ebook

I am Ren of Atikala. Kobold. Sorceress. Warrior. I am many things and I have many stories to tell. This one is about my home.

Home. The word has a special resonance with us all. Great or humble, rich or poor, everyone cherishes their home and if deprived of it loses a piece of themselves.

I remember looking back at Atikala, its ceiling collapsed in, the homes of fifty thousand kobolds crushed under unimaginable tonnes of rock and dirt. I remembering the feeling of horror and denial that immediately set in. I wanted to reject that this had happened to me, to scream to the ceiling until the rock receded, until fate changed its mind and restored everything to the way it was. I thought that life could not be so cruel as to take everything I'd known in an instant.

Oh, how I now understand that life can be capricious indeed.

This is story of how I came to the surface of Drathari and unwillingly traded a life for a life.

The Kobolds series:

#1: Ren of Atikala
#2: Ren of Atikala: The Scars of Northaven (Now available for preorder!)

I have now read all 3 of the Ren books. I personally loved these books. The beginning of book 1 was a little confusing, but became very interesting quickly. There are some spelling & grammatical errors throughout all 3 books, but easily forgiven because it's such a great story.

Great read. Very good storyline. Must have had both Spell Check and Grammer Check turned on, had the book edited or all three. Good potential for multiple books to follow. Eek may not know her Truename, but Ren Humanbane, Ren Gold Dragon's Daughter is already Ren Philosopher. This is the second David Adams book I have read. I've rated both 5 Stars. I'm very impressed. Strongly recommend this book.

If you've ever read about Drizzle, this will feel similar. Instead of a drow elf, it is a kobold that starts to see the world differently from its racing views. It wasn't bad, just been done. It may get better as the series goes on, but I'm not in a hurry to read the next one.

About the author

I've always been thinking of stories for as long as I've been alive. I have way, way, way too many to tell and far too little time to tell them.

It was only in 2011 that I actually started shaping and weaving those random, jumbling, chaotic masses of thoughts into coherent narratives and began self-publishing.

I write a little science fiction, a little fantasy, a little humour and comedy, and a few other things all over the place.
