The book’s introduction includes a brief history of the tango and an explanation of tango rhythms. Preparatory exercises explore the differences between various rhythms (habanera, marcato, etc) and how to perform them on the accordion. About the author

David DiGiuseppe is a multi-faceted performer who has been playing professionally since 1978. He is known for his fiery and emotive playing, and is equally at home performing Irish tunes in a pub, French musettes in a cabaret, contra or Cajun music for a dance, or in the intimate setting of a concert hall. DiGiuseppe performs solo and with numerous bands. He has released three recordings showcasing his playing on music from Celtic, Parisian, and American traditions. He is also featured on many releases with his various bands, and appears on numerous CDs backing other musicians. Reviewer John O'Regan of Ireland wrote, "a player of immense talent and vision, David is a musician worth encountering". David has written eight books for accordion published by Mel Bay Publications including two tutorials on left hand technique; a guide to learning blues accordion; collections of tangos, gospel songs, and wedding songs; and two extensive collections of traditional tunes arranged for accordion.
