"I wrote it for readers with some prior programming experience who want to learn JavaScript and also for programmers who already use JavaScript but want to take their understanding to a new level and really master the language" says the book's preface. I don't consider it a good choice for the former—those who want to learn JS—but rather for heavy users who need a thorough understanding of the details of JS.

great and well constructed book... Secuencially formal without being boring. DOM is a huge chapter.
