About this ebook

This story gives an insight into how God is to bring about the fullness of Jesus as High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. It gives insights into the evidences found in the scriptures of the life of Abraham. It details how God called Abraham to service, his relationship with the mystical character of Melchizedek and why God chose him to become the father of the saviour Jesus.

It is an exercise in taking the Bible scriptures as literal truth, gleaning subtleties from the original Hebrew texts through the Strong's concordance and building a picture of life in those times.

It shows things that are not immediately evident in today's perspective of the scriptures. It shows the importance of starting at the beginning of the story about God and his plan for man.

The book presents explanations on why Melchizedek was so revered and why Abraham decided to take a tithe of the plunder of the battle that saved Lot and give it to Melchizedek.

Through this book we study some of the personalities and characters of the book of Genesis and put them into perspective by showing a realistic time line for some of the period covered by the Book of Genesis.

For those who have been a Christian for many years, reading this book could be the catalyst to your future success as a Christian. It could change your life and give it meaning and as a child of God giving it direction and a purpose.

About the author

Born in the mid 1950’s in Melbourne Australia, he grew up in a time when church attendance was on the wane. However, unlike many of his classmates at school, he attended church every week with his parents. This proved to be a good grounding in learning about the Bible and its concepts. In his early church years there was a movement towards the prophetic and the imminent return of Jesus. This was described in theology as the second coming. This teaching was a backdrop to his life and he as many of the time, were happy to do the right thing as a Christian and wait for the promised kingdom of God to arrive. In those days there were many people preaching about events of the times lining up with Bible prophesy and the eminency of this second coming. But like many as they grow into their teens this reality becomes crowed out by the activities of life and the prospects of success in life through education and a good job. Specializing in engineering for a career, he became a trainee draftsperson. Over a 5-year period he studied survey and civil engineering drafting and mechanical design drafting, however not fully completing either certificate. Later he would be able to use this study as credits for further study. After travelling to Perth in Western Australia, he became interested in a new immerging technology of micro computing. He studied basic Melchizedek, High Priest of God And Your destiny in this eternal priesthood programing while working as a draftsperson for a contract engineering company, which built iron ore process plant for the Pilbara region of Western Australia. On travelling back east, but to Sydney this time, he started working in this growing field of computing in a number of rolls, including programming, sales and sales support. After securing another job in computer sales in Hobart, he travelled to Tasmania for a short while until work ran out due to an economic down turn. Then back to Victoria securing another position in sales and hydraulic design in a small firm in the Latrobe Valley region of Victoria. Then after dusting off his drafting pens became the draftsperson for a small Latrobe Valley municipal council. This is where his interest in town planning started. So for the next seven years he studied part time at university the disciplines of town planning and environmental management, achieving a bachelor degree and a graduate diploma. During his years of study he moved to the Central Coast of New South Wales, just north of Sydney. The Central Coast is one of those idyllic places were large coastal lakes, surf beaches and mountains are close by. It is situated between two large cities, Sydney to the south and Australia’s largest regional city to the north, Newcastle. After working for one of the local councils on the Coast for a time, he was given the opportunity to join the administration team of the new Central Coast Campus of the University of Newcastle. The position was as the assistant to the campus manager. This is where his interest in good writing started to emerge. Mentored by the campus manager, who herself had a qualifications in English literature; he began to take more care in his writing, which at the time took the form not only of reports for the university but assignments for the graduate diploma. After this time, he became more involved in church and was given the opportunity to start a theological course with Vision Christian College. Building on each successive year of study, he was able to achieve over a period of four years a Diploma in Ministry and a Diploma in Theology, both achieved with Honors. After qualifying and attending a small church on the Central Coast with his wife he become an officer in the church, and then after attending another church closer to home, again becoming a deacon in the church. Through the years he started to come to a realization that church is less about religion and more about who we are as Christians. He became concerned that many people have not understood how to embrace their full potential as a human, made in the image of God and purposed to make a difference. In 2006 he started to write, not really knowing how the book would finish up, but desiring to make that difference. By 2009 he had completed the first draft edition and started to get some wider feed back. He sent a copy to Dr. Ken Chant, the then the director of Vision Christian College. He wrote in a review that the author had made an important link between Melchizedek and the modern Christian. The author conceived the book because he had observed how some followers of Christ believed that God would do all the rescuing of mankind and all they needed to do is simply wait for that day of Christ’s return. He has observed that the Bible has much to say about being complacent. He says that even Jesus, when asked at the age of twelve where He had been by His parents, replied that He had been about doing his Father’s business. He has continues to write on both town planning and environmental issues such as renewable energy, planning for climate change impacts and other subjects related social planning. He sees this as a way to encourage policy makers to look after the environment. He feels that it is up to mankind to attempt to work towards preserving the natural environments on earth and to continue Christ’s work in initiating the kingdom of God on the earth. Melchizedek, High Priest of God And Your destiny in this eternal priesthood But importantly, he has continued to write about who a Christian is, and since writing this book has researched deeper into what the Bible has to reveal about who Christians really are. This book sets the foundation of this reality, by attempting to establish that God gave to Adam and the patriarchs a form of stewardship of the world.
