This book tells how the mineral iron pyrite has fascinating relevance in many fields of study, such as human history and culture, paleontology, chemistry, engineering, and many others. The writing style is conversational, hence pleasant, and conveys the author's enthusiasm. Anyone who has ever thought about anything will enjoy it. Unfortunately, the endnotes are not hyperlinked, so at the beginning of each chapter the reader must find the end of it and fiddle with bookmarks, but the endnotes are worth the trouble.
