About this eBook

Dive into this enemies to lovers, fake fiancé, sports romance!

Money, power, prestige…trouble

Forget prodigal son, forget black sheep. I’ve been the screw-up of my family for as long as I can remember… and the NFL draft agrees.

Most of the Coulter family would just as soon disown me for my bad boy, womanizing ways.

With my career hanging on by a thread and the team’s standing not much better, I’d rather be doing anything but babysitting my best friend’s little sister--or her attitude.

Asha is my exact opposite: a rule-following, driven team player. Unfortunately, management also thinks she’s the one who can keep me in line. But how can I get myself together when all I can focus on are her mile-long legs and perfect curves?

Maybe she can turn this bad boy into a good man… but not until we break a few of her rules.

I love a good sports romance and Nana Malone did not disappoint. This is book 2 in her "The Player" series. Dax Coulter is a newly drafted football player trying to make a name for himself and shed both his bad boy image and his family, especially his grandfather's sports legacy. Asha Wix is the daughter of a football legend and sister to a newly drafted great football playing brother who also happens to be Dax's best friend. Asha is also trying to make a name for herself and get out of the shadows of her dad and brother and so working in PR for the same team Dax is on seems like the perfect opportunity. When Dax and Asha are paired for a new PR initiative sparks fly between the two though they both try very hard to resist. Asha because she's by the book and wants to be taken seriously by keeping everything at work professional and Dax because Asha is his best friend's little sister. I loved reading about how these two, especially Asha, finally let loose and decided to be all in with their relationship. Short of a couple misunderstandings between these two, they both helped one another be seen as an individual to their families and ultimately succeed more than they thought they could. I really enjoyed this football romance and am looking forward to seeing which Coulter is up next in this series.

Living up to everyone's expectations wasn't easy. I love football. Reading about this player who wasn't playing up to his potential was fun. Seeing him toe the line for a young woman who was used to working in a man's world and didn't need help keeping the hounds away made for a strong female lead with a cushy center underneath all that bravado. Dax came from an all sports family starting with his grandfather's football stardom. Then they had winners in hockey, tennis, and more. He didn't believe he could ever live up his grandfather's record. But he could be a star player—in the clubs and off the field. Asha had a family of sports names to live up to as well. She'd always been pushed and pushed herself. Graduating college two years early, she wasn't even old enough to drink and found herself following the player she was promoting into clubs. She'd earned this promotions job with her own reputation. The player was Dax. Not only was he as hot and the bad boy flirt of his reputation, he was her brother's best friend. They make a concerted effort to keep things professional but when the heart starts with trick plays it isn't easy. Will they be able to reach their potential without ruining their careers? Will he be able to get past his reputation? When big brother asks Dax to keep an eye on his little sister, an eye was all he wanted touching her. Dax doesn't always follow directions. Don't pass on this steamy love story with two lovers you will not soon forget.

I really like Dax and Asha. Dax the son, brother, the football player, the friend, the screw up and the one looking for approval. Asha the daughter, sister and the one looking for approval. When these two are brought together by chance, they both know things can't go anywhere for different reasons. Nana Malone does a good job of betraying the chemistry between these two, I can feel the attraction. I liked this book better than Bryce the Player. Dax did what I wanted with his grandfather. This is Dax journey of finding the approval that he's been looking for and realizing he doesn't need it. Nana Malone did a good job of writing Dax's struggles with his family and his misguided feelings of inferiority. Nana Malone wrote a fun story with a little suspense and very little sex, in my opinion the sex was not needed and worth the wait. If you like Bryce the Player I think you will like Dax the Player even better, in my opinion. If you read Bryce then in my opinion it is worth reading. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
