I've been a huge fan of Bourne since the first DBDA. His style of writing has developed into the quality only found in a true legendary author. This book is beyond excellent. It combines survival with military and just the right amount of action. The characters are highly developed and you truly feel as if you know them on a personal level. Not to mention how descriptive this man can be with his writing. Some paragraphs in the book literally made my hair stand on end as if I were right there in the action.

The first two books were great. This book moves away from a journal entry style of the first two, and that was disappointing. The ending isn't great, and feels like the author got bored, and just wrapped it up in a few pages to be done with it. The last few pages/chapters should have been a 4th book. That's how much information is skipped over in his rush to complete the story. Buy it if you've read the first two just to wrap up the story, but lower your expectations.

Been a fan since the release of the first book. Shattered Hourglass had some nice twists and good characters but jumped around a little bit too much. It felt rushed towards the end. Notice a few editing mistakes too. This book has a narrative very different from the previous two books (liked the first the best). I look forward to other books by J.L.Bourne.
