About the author
The idea of "Clyde" the character comes from an actual duckling.
Clyde was bought at the Alameda County Fairgrounds , Pleasanton, CA in 1977.
Dean was 7 and kept him as his pet. Clyde's bed was a shoebox filled with grass and dinner was as many bugs as Clyde could eat.
Clyde followed Dean everywhere, as he thought Dean was his.......Momma Duck ......or so it would seem.
Through the tall blades of grass Clyde would stumble and chirp.
