About the author

General NC Vij (Retd) is a former Chief of the Indian Army and also the founder and vice-chairman of the National Disaster Management Authority. He was Director, General Military Operations (DGMO), during the Kargil War. He is an alumnus of Kennedy School, Harvard and a Distinguished Fellow at the Vivekananada International Foundation.
