About this ebook

He’s tortured and dark, angsty and arrogant. You want the truth? He’s kind of an A-hole.

He’s also the CEO.

Everything in my life goes according to plan, and that’s the way I like it. I got the degree. I got the job. Now I just need to prove that I have what it takes to succeed in the real world.

If there’s one thing that’s not in my plans, it’s falling in love with my boss.

Most relationships don’t start with one person calling the other out in public for being an arrogant jerk. Then again, most CEOs don’t cut their own employees in line at the coffeehouse and bark orders at people like they own the place.

Maybe pissing Oliver Cody off isn’t the right move. And now that he’s part of my world, all my plans go straight to hell.

This sexy standalone novel includes an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

I have to admit that I had a preconceived idea of what this book would be like based on the title and cover. I figured it would be a lot of steam and little story. Was I wrong!! Don't get me wrong, it has it's sexy but it's also a great "office romance" of sorts. The story is very well done and although Holland grated on my nerves a bit I did enjoy both she and Oliver together. Oliver has had his world blown apart and is trying to come to terms with it and helping Holland helps him in the end. A great story that I will definitely be recommending to everyone.

**Advanced copy provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review** This was the first time I have read a Delancey Stewart novel and it will not be the last. I really enjoyed this book and it was a good story, had great characters and I enjoyed the overall feel of the book. Oliver Cody has everything he could ever want - the job, the money, the close relationship with his parents and everything seems to be going in the right direction until it suddenly isn't. Oliver receives the worst news of his life and it throws everything into a tailspin, including everything Ollie always thought he knew about himself. Holland O'Dell has always wanted to succeed in business and graduating near the top of her class, she hoped to get the job she deserved, but gender lines proved that would not be as easy as she had hoped. She decided to take a job just to get her foot in the door and then she'll prove why she should have the job that she originally applied for and didn't get. When Holland begins to work on the project that could propel her work-life forward, she ends up meeting a guy who is willing to help her, but she's not sure that she should trust him. As they get to know one another, they see that they are very compatible, both with the work she's doing and also in a romantic sense, but will secrets that Ollie is keeping derail both her aspirations for her job and their romance before it really gets off the ground? I enjoyed this book for so many reasons, one of which was because it explored the idea of equality in the workplace and that is so important these days. Regardless of gender, if you are capable of doing the job, you should have that opportunity. This book showed that, but also showed that you can have the other things outside of the office too. And, just because you think your life is the way it should be, things happen and people come into your life exactly when they are supposed to. I look forward to reading another Delancey Stewart book soon!

I have never read this author before and was asked to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I must say, I was very impressed. The characters were likeable...the story was funny and interesting....and I just couldn't put this book down. Oliver Cody's world has completely imploded. The world as he knew it has been turned upside down by a horrible event. First he was on top of the world, and next he was crashing down at the bottom. Ollie is the CEO of Cody Technology, having taken over the reigns from his dad. The last thing he wants to be doing is working so he takes a six week break from his life. When Ollie shows back up at the office one day, he stops at the company coffeehouse and runs into someone who has given him back a spark of life. Enter Holland O'Dell. Oh, man did I LOVE this meeting. Great laugh out loud sparring! Ollie realizes he needs to know more about this girl. Holland O'Dell has dreamed of working at Cody Technology pursuing her love of statistics and sports. Fresh from earning her master's degree, Holland gets hired on at Cody Technology, but not doing what she had hoped to be doing. It seems to get that job, you need to be a male. Holland just plans to work on a secret project that she can woo upper management with that would guarantee her a promotion. She is going to improve the company's StrokeStat program that is no longer be used and customize it for Major League Baseball. Ollie starts hanging out at the coffeehouse hoping to run into Holland again. Of course he does and then the real fun begins. He realizes she is working on StrokeStat. Considering he designed and wrote it, and she has no idea who he really is, he knows this will be fun. He finally gets Holland to agree to let him help her with the hope of spending more time together. As they spend more time together, things really begin to blossom and turn serious pretty quickly. Just when it looks like his life is finally improving, the rug gets pulled out from under him and he has to face his issues and decide what he really wants in his life. Ollie and Holland together were great. The awesome banter in the beginning was priceless. As their relationship progressed, things were only getting better. Overall, I really loved these two characters and the journey they had to take to get to their happy ending. I laughed, swooned and even cried.
