OMG… I am totally going to love this new series!! Not only are the characters amazing, the overall world-biulding with the mythical type history creates an ideal escape from reality. There is an abundance of overlap with realistic society and I had fun imagining the events of this book actually happening. Falcor was a great hero. He was centuries old, and progressed wuth the times in most areas. When he relied purely on instinct though… those were purely Alpha in nature. To say they rubbed Kessily (heroine) the wrong way would be a massive understatement. She had absolutely no issue telling him as much either. The interactions between these two were classic. I look forward to the next book in the series, and I encourage you to join in the fun. They also have to deal with the threat of a mining company that is trying to destroy the Wind River Mountains. Phantom Fire is a well-written and suspenseful novel. The characters are well-developed and the plot is engaging. The romance between Kessily and Falkor is hot and steamy, but it is also heartwarming and tender. The book also explores the themes of love, loss, and sacrifice. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
