About the author

 Denise Valenti was born and raised in the quaint town of Warren, Rhode Island, sandwiched between Barrington and Bristol. She has been married for 42 years and has two children to whom she read countless stories in her child rearing years. As a child, when asked what she wanted to do when she grew up, Denise would answer, "I want to help others" and she did just that. She is a retired social worker with teacher certification in grades one through six. She has always enjoyed working with children and helping them pursue their curiosities and endeavors. During one of her family summer vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she decided to write a children’s book inspired by the National Lampoon's Vacation movies starring Chevy Chase since her family encountered similar mishaps as the characters in the Griswold family. The result is a timeless, hilarious parody with a zany family of raccoons that children and parents will cherish!
