Nachts, wenn alles ruhig war, hörten es die Bewohner des Herrenhauses von Monkshall immer wieder: erst Orgelspiel – danach einen entsetzlichen Schrei. Manche sahen auch eine Gestalt in schwarzer Mönchskutte. Wie von Edgar Wallace nicht anders zu erwarten, ein toller Krimi. Es handelt sich auch hier wieder um eine schöne Mischung aus Spannung und Liebe. Auf den Täter konnte man auch kommen, auch wenn der Autor verschiedene Spuren gelegt. Absolut lesenswert. Kein Fan von gepflegter Krimiliteratur sollte dieses Buch verpassen.
