About this ebook

Racial discrimination in Europe and America in the name of colour is still prevalent. COVID-19 had disproportionately impacted Black communities in America. The number of deaths of black people during peak covid19 period reflect the social and economic reality of Black Americans. Black Americans received inferior medical care, had less access to healthcare, health insurance and healthy food. They were also more employed as essential frontline workers, like hospital cleaning personnel, warehouse workers and food service employees who encountered coronavirus in its more unadulterated and pernicious forms. During the peak covid19 period when police killed George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, Black Lives Matter marches and demonstrations spread to many places of America. Lot of people lost their lives. The poems in the book were written during that period to show solidarity with the protesting people and create global opinion against racial discrimination.
