I've been such a fan of Diane Capri's Jack Reacher novels, I'd completely overlooked her other thrillers. That error has been taken care of, and am I ever glad. I thoroughly enjoyed these novels and the journey I was taken on through the court and political systems, a less extreme portion of the South in Florida than the South where I live, and the shadows behind the veneers of the wealthy and powerful at the turn of the millennium. There's intrigue that starts on the first page of the first book and keeps building as each story unfolds. Willa Carson, Federal Court Judge, is a unique and compelling protagonist. She's lost a lot, gained a great deal through her own efforts, but always seems to get caught between the hard rock of her position as a judge and her family. It seems she can't seem to catch a break, but she never breaks down and gives up, even if there are tears now and again. I also identified with the "Mighty Mouse" she felt rising in herself when it came to protecting those she calls her own, as well as her escape into her work. In Twisted Justice, Willa is just as human as in the first, and just as nicely crafted, tall and smoking her high-end cigars when she needs a break and some relaxation. This time her husband has gotten himself worked into a frenzy of politics, and ends up being arrested for the murder of the man he had strongly opposed being appointed to the Supreme Court. In Secret Justice, Wilhelmina gets hit with her father introducing her to his new bride, who is very young and pregnant, then the death of her friend and court secretary's husband during the yearly festival of pirates. And that's just the beginning. This one had a more cozy feel to it, but the plot took some nice turns that kept the tension going and the surprises coming. Because these novels are set at the turn of the millennium, and this boxed set has come out now, I was hoping there was a chance Willa and George would be returning, post-'08 financial meltdown. For that reason, I say one of the best parts of this trilogy are the last words at the end of the set, letting readers know that more will be coming soon. Yes!

Diane Capri's Justice Series was an excellent read. All 3 books were very well written and held my attention all the time. I especially liked Twisted Justice about George being charged with murder. Judge Carson is a great character and I intend to read the rest of the Hunt for Justice books

After reading one Willa Carson novel, I set out to find the others. This boxed set is so nice, because it allows the reader to have the next in the series “at the ready”! For surely, one wants to continue the story!  The characters are relatable, allowing you glimpses into their personalities and lives.  Their circumstances provide the opportunity for self-reflection as they handle situations with emotions that are common to Everyman.  I find the reading fast and easy, the stories light and engaging.  Thu
