Misty Wilmot has had it. Once a promising young artist, she’s now stuck on an island ruined by tourism, drinking too much and working as a waitress in a hotel. I watched the Fight Club by David Fincher. And I love the feeling of that movie: illogical but logic, rebel, messy, provocative, harsh, raw, sensual, yet felt free and powerfull. And this is my first time reading Palahniuk. I sensed that experience in here except more pathetic, sad, and pity for Misty. Its repetitive words like a mantra sounds so necessary, and the how its poking our tramedy button, his technical elaborative, and wow the dark point of view of art as a fuel of the theme, and so its satire taste so bitter in cult modernisme. Memorable!
