Nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag klingelt es bei der jungen Ärztin Katja Anderson Sturm. Sven Hellweg steht vor der Tür und drängt sie, sofort mit zur Insel Ösesund zu kommen, wo ein Mann schwer an Diphtherie erkrankt ist. Nur ungern folgt Katja ihm, denn es wütet ein furchtbares Unwetter. Zudem weiß sie, dass Sven vor Jahren seinen Bruder ermordet hat und nur auf freiem Fuß ist, weil das Gericht ihm die Tat nicht nachweisen konnte. Sie ist froh, dass sie die Insel lebend erreicht, doch beim Anlegen zerschellt das Motorboot. Nun ist Katja auf der kleinen Insel gefangen, denn ein anderes seetüchtiges Schiff gibt es hier nicht. Sven nimmt die Ärztin bei sich auf. Dort lebt sie nun - im Hause eines Mörders!
