About this ebook

When the United Earth Space Force stumbles across a shockingly xenophobic alien race, the future of the Human Race is in peril. The Space Force is outgunned and outnumbered and is pushed back relentlessly. One Space Force officer is able to slow down the onslaught due to his uncontrollable precognitive visions. His superiors think he's a tactical genius and give him more and more authority. He must solve the mystery of his visions before Mankind is pushed over the edge into the Abyss. Follow this thrilling Military Science Fiction series describing desperate space battles and the men, women and artificial intelligences that fight and die in them. Be aware that Part 1 has a cliffhanger ending. The entire series can be bought as a single ebook in the Synchronicity War Omnibus edition for less than the cost of buying all four parts individually.

The basic plot of this story would have thrilled me at the age of 14 but I would have found the complicated explanation of the battlefield logistics terminally boring. However I am many decades passed my14th birthday and find the plot too simplistic (humans versus aliens) and the battlefield logistics terminally boring . The fact that it doesn't even reach a conclusion is the final straw. A waste of time!

First of all, the author is clearly a good story teller. Second of all, it is not possible to write good military SF with space combat unless you have studied at least some fighter pilot maneuvering. And preferably something about "orbital mechanics". I once read and later bought a first attempt at military SF by a successful paranormal-romance writer. She was a good story teller. She had a consistent paranormal/paranormal physics model. She didn't have space warfare maneuvering down at all. And her plot caused her protagonist to not evolve at all through 5 books. This author doesn't suffer from any of those faults. In this book he hasn't reached the first rank of military SF writers. But I find his competence to be such that he may very well do so. Keep writing!

Outside the difficulty of reading on a phone I thought it was a great book. I play space strategy video games and could really place myself in Shilo's shoes in command of my own ship. I really appreciated the realistic feel of actually maneuvering and calculated fuel consumption in space. Good book. I will finish this series.
